Forecast Raised For Holiday Sales

The National Retail Federation bumped up its forecast for holiday sales this season, due in large part to falling oil prices.

The generally cautious group is expecting November to December sales to climb 6% over last year, to nearly $440 billion. Initially the group predicted 5% growth but revised its estimate saying that falling oil prices are boosting consumer confidence.
