Prada Populi?

You have a world-recognized luxury brand known for its chic and sexy silhouettes. You’re a long-time favorite of movie stars, fashionistas and Europhiles and very recently you’ve become the label of choice for bands of loutish, street-crawling and occasionally violent British youth. Oh-uh. Prada may have a problem.

Word from across the pond is that Prada has become the latest signature style of British youth known as chavs. Until recently Burberry plaid has been their designer look (usually in knockoff form) but now they’ve taken to Prada trainers and other accessory items.

Some nightclubs in Manchester, England have even gone so far as banning Prada sneakers at the door. It will be interesting to see if this exclusive brand has to exclude some customers.
