Chanel Plans First Store In Russia

French luxury house Chanel is reportedly opening its first standalone store in Russia. Although the exact location has yet to be decided, the store is scheduled to open this summer in Moscow.

Chanel is just one of a handful of high-end brands looking to sink their teeth into up-and-coming luxury markets. Russians have already become luxury addicts and are expected to account for 7% of luxury goods sales by 2009.
