Report: Jones Considers Breakup

After an unsuccessful bid to auction itself off, Jones Apparel Group is contemplating a breakup, according to reports. The group, which owns properties such as Barneys New York, Nine West and Enzo Angiolini, among others, was unable to get the price it wanted at auction and hopes that the individual properties will bring in higher offers.

The reported breakup plan appears to be in the early stages, however, as the group has yet to select a bank to advise it on its prospects.
